For the past several summers, Georgetown Learning Centers has helped students continue their learning process even though school is out for vacation. This summer, we continue to offer a variety of programs to ensure that your child is prepared for the upcoming school year. Whether a student needs to retake a class, get ahead in a subject area or review old material, GLC can provide the type of personalized attention and flexibile scheduling needed to make summer vacation both educational and enjoyable. SAT Success Classes A variety of class times allows students who may work or participate in extracurricular activities to take a class without disrupting their summer. Small class sizes benefit those students challenged by a crowded classroom environment. Studying for the SAT in the summer is a great way for students to get ready for the test without the typical school year distractions. Avoid compounding school year stress by getting SAT preparation done in the summer.   Personalized Bridge Programs For students who want to start the next school year on solid footing, a personalized Summer Bridge Program is a great option. With a customized plan, we can introduce students to the concepts they'll face next year in their tougher classes, or revisit the challenging concepts from previous courses. Our bridge programs can also be designed to help a student strengthen specific skill areas, such as reading comprehension or essay writing.   Reading Enrichment Reading skills are the foundation of every child's education. At each new grade level, students are required to read and understand more material in less time. At GLC, we know students with highly developed reading skills have a real advantage in the classroom. So, we created our Reading Enrichment Class, a 10-hour course for all age groups that focuses on building students' basic reading skills, such as speed, comprehension, and ease. But more importantly, our program bolsters confidence and fosters a love of reading that will stay with students throughout their lives.   Skills Development Our Skills Development Program is designed for K-12 students who are looking to improve basic learning skills in math, reading and writing. Our comprehensive skills development software first assesses students' strengths and weaknesses and then provides a 'prescription,' or set of tailored assignments for improvement. Working in small groups, students receive personalized instruction from our expert staff. And, with flexible scheduling, our program provides an excellent opportunity for students to dramatically improve fundamental skills before returning to school.
