Our Study Lounges are ideal for students who are seeking extra help, but prefer to work independently. Students can study at their own pace while still having the support of an instructor who can answer questions, go over practice problems, and explain concepts. Academic Study Lounges are available at all of our locations:
- Great Falls: Mondays, 7:00-8:00pm; Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00pm; Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00pm; Thursdays, 5:00-6:00pm
- McLean: Mondays, 7:00-8:00pm; Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00pm; Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm, Thursdays, 7:00pm-8:00pm
- Charlottesville: Wednesdays, 8:30-9:30pm
In addition to our Academic and SAT Study Lounges, this year, GLC is offering these subject-specific Study Lounges in our Northern Virginia locations:
- Precalculus: Mondays, 6:00-7:00pm in Great Falls
- Chemistry: Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00pm in McLean

Personal Attention in a Small Group Setting
Our study lounge matches up to four students with one instructor, allowing students to finish homework or study for tests while having the support of a knowledgeable teacher to answer questions and explain concepts. Students can get a lot of work done during study lounge and leave with a strong understanding of their material.
Developing Strong Study Habits
At Georgetown Learning Centers we believe effective study habits are essential for academic success. Students with the discipline to efficiently complete assignments and organize their coursework continue to succeed long after they leave our centers and return to the classroom. To achieve this goal, we offer a quiet, supervised study lounge where students find a distraction-free setting. A member of our staff is on-hand to answer questions and guide kids through their coursework, thus facilitating the learning process whether students are completing assignments or preparing for an exam.
The Perfect Environment
Students are given their own work space to ensure that they can concentrate and get through their homework. Tutors answer questions but allow students to work through assignments at their own pace. The study lounge is ideal for kids who need a structured environment, want to reinforce lessons learned during one-on-one, or who seem perpetually distracted at home. |
