FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) What are Study Lounges? Study Lounges are available twice a week throughout the course and are run by the SAT instructor. This is an opportunity for students to review class material or complete SAT homework, while having the support of an instructor who can answer questions, go over practice problems, and explain difficult concepts. Study Lounges are optional, but are highly recommended for students to gain the most from the SAT Success Course. What if my student misses a class? If a student misses a class, we recommend he or she attends that week's Study Lounge to work with an instructor through key missed material. A student typically needs to attend one Study Lounge for every two hours of missed class time. What is an SAT diagnostic test? GLC offers three full-length, College Board-released SAT tests with each SAT Success Course. We generally administer the SAT diagnostic tests on Saturday mornings. Who is eligible for the free course retake? All students are guaranteed a free retake of the course regardless of their improvement. The free retake may be used for classes leading up to the October, November, December, and January test dates, along with any of our summer classes. What if my student can't attend an SAT diagnostic test? We can proctor SAT diagnostic tests any time during our tutoring hours. Call or email your local director to schedule a make-up time that works best for you. Does GLC sign my students up for the actual sitting of the SAT? No, College Board administers all actual SATs, and you must register through the College Board website. Register early so you can ensure getting your preferred testing location.
